Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about ordering custom apparel.
Minimums, pricing, turnaround, payment, and everything else you might want to know before reaching out.
Do you have order minimums?+
No. You can order one shirt or three hundred. Pricing gets better as quantities go up, but there is no minimum to place an order and no setup or screen fees at any quantity.
How much does it cost?+
Our standard tee pricing is published with clear quantity tiers so you can see whether we fit your budget before you contact us. Per-piece pricing drops as quantities go up, and the exact number depends on the garment, quantity, decoration method, and number of print locations. Tell us roughly what you need and we will send a flat quote with no hidden fees.
See standard pricingHow long does it take?+
Most standard projects are completed in about 7 to 10 business days once payment is received, artwork is approved, and the garments we need are available. Straightforward jobs can absolutely move faster than that, and more complicated projects may take longer. If you have a hard deadline, tell us up front and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it before you place the order.
How does payment work?+
Payment in full is due when you approve your quote. Custom apparel is made specifically for you and cannot be resold, so we collect up front and order your garments the same day. That is also what starts your turnaround clock, so the sooner it is paid the sooner it is scheduled. You will get a secure payment link right in your portal, processed through Stripe, so you can pay by card or bank transfer without a phone call or a check in the mail.
Can I pick up, or do you ship?+
Both. Pick up at the studio on NC-107 in Glenville during studio hours, or we will ship anywhere in the country. We also deliver locally at no charge for orders around Cashiers, Highlands, Glenville, Sapphire, and Lake Toxaway. Plenty of our customers are seasonal residents, so if you order while you are on the Plateau and head home before it is finished, just tell us where to send it.
What decoration methods do you offer?+
Direct-to-film printing, screen print transfers, and embroidery. We also work with specialty finishes like heat-applied embroidered emblems and raised silicone, which are worth considering when you want something that reads more premium than a standard print. We will recommend the right method for your garment, your artwork, and your budget rather than pushing you toward whatever is easiest for us.
Do you do embroidery in-house?+
Yes. We run a fifteen needle commercial embroidery machine here in the shop. That means hats, polos, jackets, and left-chest logos are done under our roof, not sent out and marked up.
What shirts do you carry?+
We offer three tees depending on what the shirt is for. Promo & Event is the Gildan Softstyle 64000, the right call for high-quantity giveaways and event shirts. Everyday Soft is the Next Level 6210, which is what most businesses want for staff and branded apparel. Premium / Retail is the AS Colour 5001, a genuinely retail-quality blank for anyone selling merch or wanting something that feels like a product rather than a promo item. We can also source hoodies, polos, hats, outerwear, and workwear on request.
See current quantity pricingWhat kind of artwork do you need from me?+
If you have print-ready, high-resolution files, send them over and there is no art fee. If what you have is a logo off your website, a photo of an old shirt, or a sketch on a napkin, we can handle that too. Artwork cleanup and vector conversion is a flat $30 and you keep the final production-ready files.
Can I bring my own garments?+
Sometimes, and it depends on the piece. If it is something we do not carry and you want a graphic printed on it, usually yes. If it is a one-of-a-kind or irreplaceable item, we will generally pass, because decoration involves heat and pressure and there is no way to guarantee a garment we did not source. Ask us and we will give you a straight answer. Customer-supplied garments require a signed spoilage waiver.
Do you make retail-ready merch for shops, breweries, and galleries?+
Yes, and it is one of our favorite things to do. Retail Ready is our program for businesses selling merch: premium AS Colour blanks, your own custom neck label instead of a manufacturer tag, and finished packaging so the piece looks like your product and not a printed blank. Minimum is 48 pieces.
Explore Retail ReadyHow do reorders work?+
Every customer gets a portal account, and your past orders live there so reordering is much easier than starting over. If the design, garment, and setup have not changed, most reorders can move through quickly without re-explaining the job or hunting down old art files. If something has changed, we will flag it and confirm the details before it goes back into production.
Are you actually local?+
Yes. Our studio is on NC-107 in Glenville, just outside Cashiers. Printing, pressing, embroidery, proofing, finishing, and order fulfillment are handled here in our shop. For certain specialty finishes or custom components, we may use trusted production partners before the final decoration or finishing is completed here. You can still drop in, look at samples, and talk directly to the people handling your order.
